Electrical Service Technician
Job Overview
The Service Technician is responsible for timely assessment and repair of electrical system faults, Installation of new wiring and equipment. Service Technicians are expected to utilize a combination of skills and experience to make recommendations and perform work necessary to maximize the functionality of our customer’s systems and minimize downtime.
Reports To
The Service Technician will report to the Operations Manager.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Service Technician is responsible for the following outcomes:
- Successfully assessing and repairing electrical equipment & wiring in a time efficient manner
- Maintaining a first-time fix rate of 95% or higher.
- Having a call-back history of less than 5%
- Completing and returning paperwork in a neat, orderly and timely manner.
- Utilizing dispatch software to obtain and record information needed to document work performed or in need of completion.
- Earning customer satisfaction scores of 90% or higher
- Advocating the Schwenn Company’s Vision of being our clients preferred and most desirable choice for their mechanical and electrical service needs.

The Service Technician is one of the primary engines of work at Schwenn. This position is always in front of the customer and the face of the Company. This position is critical to the current and future success of the Companies and the Team.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess and repair Electrical system faults.
- Installation of new wiring and equipment.
- Communicate schedule changes to the Operations Coordinator as the situation dictates
- Utilize dispatch software to obtain information and record thorough notes and photos of work in order to effectively communicate with customers, management and other technicians.
- Obtain Purchase Orders and order parts upon approval for completion of work
- Work as a team with supervisors and coworkers to execute work as efficiently and to the highest standard possible
- Mentor less qualified co-workers
- Maintain the required personal tool list
- Utilize safe work practices
- Attend company sponsored training
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience or educational equivalent
- Clean driving record
- Able and willing to work in a team environment
- Eager to learn and be continually educated
- Able to pass a drug test
- Able to clearly communicate with management, coworkers and customers
